Wind turbine syndrome: Who to believe?

"Living close to wind farms can lead to a greater risk of heart disease, panic attacks and migraines, according to a study.

The farms can cause 'wind turbine syndrome', the symptoms of which also include tinnitus, vertigo and sleep deprivation
"
...said a journalist, yesterday.

But a scientist added...

"This study provides no conclusive evidence that wind turbines have an effect on health or are causing the set of symptoms described here as ‘wind turbine syndrome’. The study design was weak, the study was small and there was no comparison group.

Asking this particular group about their symptoms prior to their exposure to wind turbines was not a sufficient ‘control’ measure. Many of the participants were reportedly already convinced that wind turbines were to blame for their symptoms and were actively trying to move out of their homes or had already moved."

  3. Yep. As we see people who live in cities put up with police sirens, ambulances, planes flying overhead, blaring radios and the like. But they're often chavs, so who cares? Country dwellers however who have paid upwards of 500k for their residences are entitled to permanent quiet (aside from cows, shotguns, fox hunting etc.) plus lots of nice cheap energy. Said energy should be produced of course well out of the way of the countryside - let the dirty proles make it for the hard-working gentry.

  4. Why didn't millers suffer those syndromes when they lived "Inside" windmills?
