Horror as study finds 1 in 3 people in the world is Christian...and 42m live in Britain

The Global Spread of Christianity - special report by Claude

The Muslim-obsessed Daily Mail is currently making a big deal out of a recent report claiming that "almost one in four people in the world are Muslim".

"The project", the article continues, "presents a portrait of the Muslim world that might surprise some. For example, Germany has more Muslims than Lebanon".

Accompanying the "revelation", Paul Dacre's paper is also sporting a picture of a group of ladies wearing black niqabs, the equivalent of sticking a picture of an Orthodox monk onto an article about "Christianity".

The article, by MAIL FOREIGN SERVICE, continues with the news that 1,647,000 Muslims currently live in Britain, and carries captions such as "THE GLOBAL SPREAD OF ISLAM"- its only purpose being, presumably, to nicely complement the BNP's repeated bombardment about "the Islamic demographic time bomb".

But because we care about our Daily Mail readers' stunted access to information, we thought we'd provide the goods and shed some light on the number of Christians worldwide.

Apparently, 33 per cent of the world's population is Christian. Over 42m adherents live in Britain, which amounts to 71,6 per cent of the UK population.

Figures also present a picure of Christianity that may surprise some. For instance, there are more Christians in India or Pakistan than there are in the Vatican or even in Ireland! You couldn't make it up!

  1. "For instance, there are more Christians in India or Pakistan than there are in the Vatican or even in Ireland! You couldn't make it up!"

    *snerk* Love it.

  2. You forget to mention that Christians are a minority in Pakistan and that they are being slaughtered and set on fire.

  3. McKenzie,
But in the last few years several Muslim people were set on fire by packs of "patriotic" German Neo-Nazi too. And that's where, according to the Mail, there are more Muslims than in Lebanon.

  4. I find the figures that state that 72-ish percent of the UK population Christian a bit hard to swallow, to be honest. The same article gives a figure of under 40% of people stating that they believe in God. That article gives some very nice and clear reasons why.

  5. The official study guide for the Life in the UK test quotes almost 75% of people in the UK identify as Christian, but that less than 10% are practicing, with more practicing Christians in Scotland than Britain (from a poll taken in 2001).
So perhaps the actual fear is that the God of Islam will overcome the God of the Christians because more Muslims don't just say they are Muslim, but actually believe in and openly practice their faith...

  6. I see no problme with setting fire to Christians, it used to be the done thing and glad to see it coming back into fashion.

When are we all going to remember the one true God, Zeus?

  7. Daniel

What a terrible thing to say. You are not one of claude's neo nazis are you? I hear the Lithuanian branch of the Waffen SS is making a popular impact in EU politics.

  8. It was a joke McKenzie, an offensive one no doubt but a joke at that.

Having said that, as a Jew, I find Christians particularly annoying.

  9. Ah! God Dam split my guts when the penny dropped...Duh! Jewish sense of humour and all that. How many Jews does it take to change a light bulb, nah forger it.

  10. Q: How many Jews does it take to change a light bulb?

A: 30. One to change the bulb & 29 to discuss it and give contradictory advice to the person changing the bulb.

Q: How many secular jews does it take to change a lighbulb?

A: My grandmother, who lived in a Shtetl changed lightbulbs. Today, we call electricians to do it.
